Pass Check: Plants & Photosynthesis
Photosynthesis, leaf structure, limiting factors, transport and plant responses.
Photosynthesis
The process by which plants and algae use light energy to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen.
Limiting factor
A factor, such as light intensity, temperature or CO₂ concentration, that limits the rate of photosynthesis when in short supply.
Transpiration
The loss of water vapour from a plant's leaves, mainly through the stomata.
Stomata
Small pores, usually on the underside of leaves, that allow gas exchange and control water loss.
